Philip graduated from Oxford with a BA in Biochemistry in 1983. He was awarded a PhD in Natural Sciences (Botany) from the University of Manchester in 1987, then a DSc in 2016.
He has published over 300 scientific articles and is designated a “Highly Cited Researcher in Plant and Animal Science” by Clarivate Analytics.
He currently works at The James Hutton Institute (UK), where he is engaged on projects related to crop mineral nutrition, from the genes to the harvest.
