World's Class

Mohammed VI Polytechnic University

Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) is a forward-looking institution with the ambition of developing innovative solutions
to the specific challenges facing Africa, while responding to global issues. With a strategic focus on training and research, it stands out for its close partnerships with industry, catalyzing innovation and entrepreneurship.

Anchored in Morocco with a resolutely African scope, UM6P is a key player in education, research, innovation and entrepreneurship. Its mission is based on the development of knowledge, science and technology, through a pedagogy that encourages experimentation and practice. This unique approach nurtures inquisitive and creative minds among students, teachers and partners.

Serving Africa’s research and innovation needs means generating knowledge production that takes into account the continent’s economic, environmental, societal, technological and political variables.

This production goes beyond the cognitive to include concrete, reproducible experiments, responding to the pressing need for solutions in all fields.

Harnessing the power of knowledge

Under the impetus of the OCP Group, UM6P has developed a unique model, combining a strong African vocation with research focused on crucial issues: the energy crisis, resource management, water stress and food security.

With its Living Labs and innovative pedagogical approach, UM6P creates an immersive learning environment. These Living Labs, combined with state-of-the-art infrastructures, enable learners to transform their knowledge into concrete solutions.

Among the flagship infrastructures:

To meet the needs of regional ecosystems, UM6P has diversified its campuses in Rabat, Laâyoune, Casablanca and Mazagan. In Rabat, the Faculty of Governance, Economic and Social Sciences (FGSES) trains leaders in the social sciences. In Laâyoune, the African Sustainable Agriculture Research Institute (ASARI) develops solutions adapted to Saharan environments.

In Casablanca, an ecosystem of start-ups is to be created on a new campus. Meanwhile, in El Jadida, a new urban and university hub will be built, housing a chemistry research center and a start-up incubation platform.

Based on the innovative concept of peer-learning, the 1337 and YouCode coding schools stand out for their unique, participative educational model. Unlike traditional approaches, these schools set aside conventional teachers in favor of collaborative learning, where students become the driving force behind their own training and that of their peers.

Internationally, UM6P is expanding its network with campuses in France and Canada, building bridges between Africa and the rest of the world. These campuses offer executive training and research opportunities for young professionals and managers committed to the continent’s development.

The university is also preparing to open a new campus in Côte d’Ivoire, marking an important step in its African strategy. This future site will house the Digital Farming School, dedicated to agricultural innovation for sub-Saharan Africa.

Through these initiatives, UM6P confirms its role as a bridge between continents, while consolidating its pan-African vocation.
